In 2009, SKIP, Inc. celebrated 30 years of serving the special needs of children whose parents are incarcerated. SKIP's approach is comprehensive and involves the child(ren) and their caregiver. It is our hope to increase public awareness through efforts that will address the issues and concerns of children of prisoners and their caregivers. Children of incarcerated parents possess unique needs and have gone unrecognized for far too long. They are often times Stigmatized, Traumatized, Ostracized, and Penalized for what their parent(s) might have done.
